GARNETT, David: 4 volumes. Firstly, 'Aspects of Love' (upon which the Lloyd-Webber musical was based). SIGNED, dedicated and dated to his lover Ann Hopkin (27 October 1955). 1st edition, Chatto and Windus, 1955. NOT ex-lib; NOT otherwise inscribed; NOT price-clipped; this has a very reasonably preserved jacket with very minor loss/nicks. The green boards are similarly 'Good'. An interesting copy. Also included: 'Two By Two A Story of Survival' by Garnett, this time inscribed: 'To Ann Hopkin with love from the Author' (without signature). Longmans 1st 1963. NOT otherwise inscribed, NOT ex-lib; NOT price-clipped. This is clearly a VG/VG copy. Garnett was a Bloomsbury-ite and knew all the great figures of the time. The 'popular' musical 'Aspects of Love' rekindled some interest in his oeuvre. With Garnett's edition of 'The Letters of T.E.Lawrence of Arabia' (1964 ed.). And one other.
